The Waihopai Toetoe Community Partnership Fund supports local decision-making by enabling community boards to distribute funding for local needs, aspirations, and goals in line with community-led development principles.

Focus: A thriving, healthy and safe community with access to quality facilities, amenities and services; the community is connected and engaged;  unique, natural environment is healthy and protected; the communities have the opportunity to celebrate their history and heritage.

Consideration will be given to all not-for-profit requests that demonstrate community benefit, with preference for projects directly benefiting the community board area and aligning with the board plan outcomes. Salaries and operating costs will not be funded. There is no cap on funding requests, and co-funding is preferable but not essential. Applicants do not need to be a legal entity and may be asked to present their request to the board. The board can also grant funds subject to other funding being secured.

A total of $22,857 is available each year, with two funding rounds closing on 31 March and 30 September. Applications are usually reviewed at community board meetings in June and December.

Applicants must provide verification of bank account details, recent financial accounts or statements, the latest bank statement, relevant quotes, and any supporting documents such as letters of support.
