The Black Business and Professional Association National Scholarship Program is designed to support Black Canadian students pursuing post-secondary education.

Scholarships are awarded based on academic excellence, leadership, and community involvement to reduce financial barriers and support career success.

  • The program also provides recipients with access to various resources and workshops, to support their academic and professional development.
Funding Information
  • The BBPA NSP offers several scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $7,000.
  • Applications are open for an 8-week period to provide applicants with the fullest capacity to prepare the best application possible.
Eligibility Criteria
  • To be eligible for the BBPA National Scholarship Program, applicants must:
    • Be a Black student who is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person (or have applied for permanent residency or a student/work visa).
    • Be enrolled in an accredited educational institution.
    • Be between 17 and 30 years old at the start of the academic year (September 2025).
Selection Criteria
  • The selection process for the BBPA National Scholarship Program is rigorous and competitive.
  • Applicants are evaluated based on their academic achievements, financial need, community involvement, personal statement, and letters of recommendation.
  • A panel of judges reviews each application and selects the recipients based on the eligibility criteria and the strength of their application.
