The Office for Cooperation with NGOs of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, in its role as the Programme Manager for the Civil Society Programme within the 2nd contribution of the Swiss-Croatian Cooperation Programme, has announced the Call for Proposals "Strengthening the Contribution of Civil Society Organisations to Community Service Learning".

A new opportunity is now available for civil society organizations across Croatia that seek to collaborate with universities and drive meaningful community engagement. This call empowers nonprofits to form sustainable partnerships with higher education institutions and deliver programmes centered on socially impactful learning—creating a bridge between academia and civic life.

The initiative is designed to foster mutual capacity building—strengthening the professional and analytical skills of civil society actors while involving students and faculty in real-world learning experiences. Through such collaboration, organizations can amplify their impact, and university participants gain firsthand exposure to community challenges, all while nurturing active citizenship.

A total of €2.21 million is allocated to support these projects. Organizations can cover up to 90% of eligible project costs through grant funding, with a required contribution of at least 10% from their own funds or other sources. Projects should be carefully planned to unfold over 24 to 36 months, offering sufficient time for depth, learning, and real impact.

To ensure clarity and enable strong applications, the Office for Associations will host informational workshops for interested organizations. Details on dates and locations will be shared soon via official channels to help participants prepare their proposals effectively.

Civil society groups collaborating with universities now have a timely chance to drive innovation in communal learning, boost organizational competence, and energize youth civic engagement. This combined effort promises to elevate both social impact and academic relevance.
