The Derbyshire County Council Public Health has provided funds to Derbyshire Voluntary Action to deliver a ‘Health and Wellbeing Grant’ for the areas of Bolsover, Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire.
This grant is available to support new or existing not-for-profit voluntary and community groups to fund projects or activities that:
- Strengthen and support the local community
- Improve health and wellbeing
Focus Areas
- Projects should align with Derbyshire Public Health’s key focus areas:
- Enable Children and young people in Derbyshire to start well and tackle child
- poverty
- Support good mental health
- Tackle the four main risk factors that lead to poor health (poor diet, smoking,
- inactivity, alcohol consumption)
- Support communities to be resilient and independent
Priorities
- Your project/activity should focus on:
- Strengthen and support the community, build social connections and reduce loneliness.
- Improve health and wellbeing, especially for children, families and older people.
- Promote good mental health and emotional wellbeing.
- Enhance learning/skills within the community.
Funding Information
- Derbyshire Voluntary Action Health and Wellbeing £1,000 Grant Scheme.
Expected Outcomes
- Projects should aim to achieve at least some of the following:
- Increased social connections
- Stronger sense of belonging and purpose
- Reduced stress and anxiety
- Improved mental wellbeing
- Greater levels play, exercise, and physical activity
- Promotion of healthy eating
Eligibility Criteria
- Be a non-profit voluntary and community groups based in, or delivering activities in Bolsover, Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire.
- Have a management committee, a governing document, and a bank account in the group’s name.
- Provide latest signed accounts or estimated income and expenditure for new groups.
- Hold appropriate insurance (public liability insurance and if applicable, employer’s liability) and have relevant safeguarding or governance policies Provide written confirmation if insurance will be covered by a third party.
