La Caixa” Foundation presents Catalonia Social Projects in Spain
Section
In 2025, the "la Caixa" Foundation is launching a series of eighteen Calls for Social Projects across Spain, one for each autonomous community and two additional calls for the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla.
Among these, the Catalonia 2025 Call for Social Projects stands out as a targeted initiative designed to address the specific social challenges facing vulnerable communities within the region.
This call seeks to promote initiatives that directly support individuals experiencing social vulnerability, aiming to foster social inclusion, promote equal opportunities, and improve the overall quality of life. The broader goal is to contribute to building a more just, equitable, inclusive, and supportive society by reinforcing social cohesion through community-driven action.
The Catalonia 2025 call aligns with and complements the existing social programs of the “la Caixa” Foundation, including the CaixaProinfancia Program, the Incorpora Program, the Senior Citizens Program, and the Comprehensive Care Program for People with Advanced Diseases. Together, these efforts form a coordinated approach to tackling social inequality and marginalization.
The call supports projects operating in key areas such as care for the elderly, support for people with disabilities, mental disorders, or illness, and initiatives that benefit individuals at risk of poverty or social exclusion. In addition, projects are encouraged to integrate transversal themes that cut across all these sectors. These include social and labor integration, access to temporary housing, intercultural dialogue, promotion of healthy lifestyles and emotional well-being, prevention of violence and substance abuse, the use of culture for social inclusion, and digital inclusion.
Eligible projects may apply for grants under two funding modalities. Modality 1 allows for support of up to €50,000, while Modality 2 provides funding up to €100,000. Each project must be implemented within a twelve-month period, ensuring a timely and focused impact.
Non-profit organizations, social economy entities, and cultural institutions are invited to apply, reflecting the Foundation’s commitment to working with a broad spectrum of actors involved in social development. By supporting these diverse organizations, the call promotes collaboration and innovation in addressing some of Catalonia’s most pressing social challenges.
The Catalonia 2025 Call for Social Projects represents a valuable opportunity for community-focused organizations to make a meaningful difference. With targeted support and a clear commitment to social equity, the initiative is a step toward a more inclusive and resilient society.
