Funding available for Voluntary and Community Groups in North Lanarkshire – UK
Section
The North Lanarkshire Council has opened its Community Grants scheme for voluntary and community organizations operating across the region.
This initiative aims to support small-scale, local projects that deliver real community benefit through quick and accessible funding.
Eligible applicants must be democratically run voluntary organizations or community groups whose membership is open to all appropriate sections of the community. Religious organizations may also apply, provided their project is inclusive and not faith-based. Individuals, for-profit entities, private clubs, political parties, and trade unions are not eligible to apply.
Funding is flexible and can be used to cover items like equipment purchase, venue hire, social events, operational costs, trips, program expenses, and minor building improvements. However, grants cannot be used for projects already underway, personal equipment, or repairs to premises not owned or leased by the applying organization.
Organizations can apply for a maximum of £1,000 per year and can submit up to three different applications annually, as long as the total does not exceed the cap. Applications are considered at specific intervals throughout the year, so timely submission is important to ensure eligibility.
The application process involves completing a form and sending it via email along with supporting documents such as your group’s constitution, bank statement and mandate, and a recent financial statement. Clear instructions are provided to help applicants meet all submission requirements.
Once submitted, applicants will receive an email confirmation with a reference number and indication of when the application will be processed. If additional details are needed, the Council will reach out. Successful recipients must comply with grant conditions, including proper use of funds, acknowledgement in communications, maintaining financial records, and submitting monitoring reports.
This grant offers a valuable opportunity for community groups in North Lanarkshire to access funding and support to help enrich their neighbourhoods through projects that matter.
