The UN Women, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), is implementing the “Democratic Reform through Inclusive Participation” project (DRIP) to foster a more inclusive and participatory democratic and electoral process in Bangladesh, where diverse voices, especially those of women, youth, and socially excluded groups, are meaningfully represented in political, governance, and change-making processes.

Funding Information
  • The budget range for this proposal should be Min. 9,000,000 BDT – 12,150,000 Max BDT (approx.) 100,000 USD.
Duration
  • The project will be implemented from 1 October 2025 to 30 November 2026 (14 months).
Description of required services/results
  • Scope of Work
    • Formative Research
    • Design and execute an evidence-based campaign on women’s political participation, representation and leadership
    • Pre-test of campaign messages and content
    • Organize a national launch to build awareness with national stakeholders on the criticality of women’s political participation, representation and leadership.
    • Community-based interventions and policy dialogues
Outcomes
  • The project has two outcomes.
    • Outcome 1: Democratic reforms and electoral processes are more credible, inclusive and transparent.
    • Outcome 2: Research and evidence are generated and utilized to empower citizens in advocating for transparency, accountability, and inclusive electoral processes.
Expected Results 
  • Galvanize civic engagement to advance women’s political participation, representation and leadership - Design and implement a civic engagement campaign in select locations to mobilize public support, shape inclusive political narratives that advance women’s political participation, representation and leadership.
Competencies
  • Technical/functional competencies required
    • Priority will be given to organization that is women-led and women’s rights focused to carry out the activities listed in this Call for Proposals. The organization can submit their proposals as a consortium.
      • Demonstrated commitment to working with women and girls that are economically, politically, socially, culturally, or otherwise excluded/, marginalized
      • Minimum 10 years of demonstrable organizational experience in working in using communication for development, art for educational and behavioural change projects.
      • Sound knowledge and technical expertise on gender and intersectionality.
      • Demonstrable experience in designing and facilitating inclusive capacity development and reflective dialogues/initiatives using feminist and participatory methodologies
      • Proven organizational experience in building strategic partnerships, connections, and networks with relevant partners, including artists from diverse art forms, creative groups, government agencies, community-based organizations at the local level.
      • Demonstrated organizational expertise in implementing storytelling-based approaches
    • Other competencies, which while not required, can be an asset for the performance of services
      • Demonstrated experience in applying human rights-based and feminist approaches to advancing the leadership of women
      • Demonstrated commitment and track record in integration of safeguarding principles and a “do no harm” approach across interventions.
      • Demonstrated track record of working with UN and other International/National NGOs.
