Creation of Afterschool Programs for Children and Youth from Marginalized Communities (Moldova)
Section
The Terre des hommes Moldova Foundation, in partnership with Junior Achievement Moldova and the Alliance of NGOs Active in the Field of Social Protection of Child and Family (APSCF), has launched a grant call to support community organizations in creating or developing afterschool, extracurricular, and social services for children and youth from marginalized communities.
The main goal of the BOOST grant scheme is to improve access to quality educational and social activities for children and youth in marginalized communities by directly supporting local organizations. The primary focus is on children aged 7 to 14. In addition to financial support, grant recipients will benefit from training sessions, coaching, and tailored mentoring, aimed at strengthening the sustainability and quality of the developed services.
Eligible applicants are organizations legally registered in the Republic of Moldova that operate in areas such as education, social services, child rights, or community development. Applications may be submitted individually or in consortium, with civil society organizations, social enterprises, and other entities meeting eligibility criteria invited to apply. Local partnerships are strongly encouraged.
The grant scheme has a total available budget of €500,000, with a minimum of 10 projects to be funded. Individual grants will range from €20,000 to €60,000 depending on the scope of intervention and organizational capacity. Projects can run for 12 to 24 months, with final completion no later than October 30, 2027. While co-funding is not mandatory, contributions in cash or in-kind will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Projects that can be funded include afterschool and extracurricular programs in arts, sports, sciences, civic education, and digital skills, as well as workshops on personal development, psychological counseling, and emotional support. Other eligible activities include educational camps and socializing opportunities for vulnerable children, parenting education and family engagement initiatives, professional training for teachers and specialists, and community actions promoting inclusion and collaboration among local stakeholders.
Applications must be submitted electronically in Romanian and include the application form, budget, logical framework, organizational documents, CVs, declarations, and partnership agreements where applicable. The deadline for submissions is September 14, 2025, at 23:59.
The official launch of the call was on August 1, 2025, followed by information sessions scheduled for August 15, 2025. The deadline for clarifications is September 5, 2025, with evaluation taking place in September and contracts to be signed in October 2025. To support applicants, Terre des hommes Moldova will organize an online information session where participants can ask questions and receive guidance on preparing their applications.
