Component 3: Micro Projects Grant Program in Croatia

A new call is now inviting civil society organizations in Croatia to lead small-scale, high-impact initiatives that directly address local community needs.
As part of the Swiss‑Croatian Cooperation Programme’s third component, micro‑projects are designed to elevate community development by empowering CSOs to collaboratively devise and implement solutions rooted in citizen involvement.
The initiative places strong emphasis on strengthening the capacities of local organizations, helping them take the lead in identifying and responding to challenges within their own settings. By embedding citizens in the planning and delivery cycle, the effort seeks to foster ownership, relevance, and sustainable outcomes.
For the 2025 initiative, around EUR 1.65 million has been allocated to support these local projects. Organizations may propose interventions that demonstrate a genuine commitment to mobilizing resources, as they must match at least ten percent of the project’s eligible costs from their own funds or additional sources, ensuring shared responsibility and investment.
Micro‑projects can span anywhere from one to two years in length, allowing for well-planned and sufficiently impactful approaches. The timeline is clear: applications must be submitted by the end of October 2025, marking a defined window for those eager to bring their local ideas to life and collaboratively build stronger communities.
To support prospective applicants, the implementing office will organize information sessions. These will provide guidance on how to shape projects, assemble partnerships, and work effectively with key administrative tools. Detailed application materials and forms are also made available in both Croatian and English to support inclusivity and clarity for organizations of different scales.
