The City of Tea Tree Gully is inviting applications for its Community Grants program, offering financial support to community groups and not-for-profit organisations that provide benefits to the wider community and align with the council’s strategic objectives.
The program focuses on four key categories: Community Development, Equipment, Community Events, and Community Environment. Community Development grants (up to $8,000) support activities that encourage participation and inclusion, build skills, and meet community needs in innovative ways. Equipment grants (up to $3,000) fund purchases directly supporting community development activities. Community Events grants (up to $2,500) support events that appeal to local and broader audiences, celebrate diversity, and bring communities together. Community Environment grants (up to $2,000) aim to protect and enhance the local environment through initiatives such as waste minimisation, biodiversity, conservation, sustainable living, and environmental education.
Applicants must be incorporated not-for-profit community or sporting groups, or be auspiced by an incorporated body, located within or primarily serving the City of Tea Tree Gully. Projects must align with one or more outcomes such as strengthening community groups, supporting volunteering, encouraging participation in community life, promoting healthy lifestyles, supporting a safe living environment, celebrating cultural diversity, or fostering collaboration.
Successful projects must be completed within 12 months, with funds used as outlined in the approved application. Recipients must acknowledge the grant in publicity materials, submit evaluations, and return any unspent funds. The council may promote funded projects via social media and its website.
