In line with Türkiye’s vision of being among the leading countries in the world with its original scientific studies on polar sciences, the Turkish scientific expeditions to the polar regions (Arctic and Antarctica) are annually organised under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye and the coordination of TÜBİTAK MAM Polar Research Institute (PRI).

The expeditions aim original, sustainable, and high-quality scientific research of Turkish scientists in Polar Regions, cooperation with scientists from other countries, while becoming one of the reputable countries having a voice in Polar Regions.

Funding Information

• The support upper limit for KUTUP 1001 projects is 1,200,000 (one million two hundred thousand) TL in total, excluding PTÿ for scientific research, without any annual budget limitation. The PTÿ upper limit for KUTUP 1001 is 100,000 TL, and no Institutional Share will be paid. 

Duration

• The maximum project duration is 24 months.

Eligibility Criteria

• The project call is open to public and private institutions in the country and is affiliated with TÜBÿTAK.
• Centers, Institutes and Research Groups also in accordance with their own institutional procedures, will be able to apply.
• The project previously supported under the POLAR Research Calls in the 13th Project Call
• Priority will be given to project managers who are not present.
