The United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has launched a call for applications for the Implementation of a local management model to contribute to the strategy to reduce chronic childhood malnutrition in selected parishes in the province of Chimborazo.

Expected Results
- Strengthened intersectoral coordination processes through support and technical assistance for the implementation of the Methodological Guide for the Formation of Parish Intersectoral Roundtables for the Prevention and Reduction of Chronic Childhood Malnutrition: 7 Parish Roundtables (MIP).
- Document containing, based on the rapid assessment of the current situation of the 7 MIPs:
- a roadmap for technical support for the MIPs;
- a roadmap for strengthening the capacities of Health Districts 06D02 and 06D01.
- Implementation of local social and behavioral change (SC&B) plans: Children with a future, this cause is the best, Practical guide for the execution of local social and behavioral change (SC&B) plans to prevent chronic childhood malnutrition: 8 parish plans)
- Document containing the work plan for the implementation of local plans in accordance with the aforementioned methodology.
- Document systematizing technical assistance in the implementation and monitoring of local SC&B plans at the parish level, which includes:
- rapid diagnosis of the participatory construction of the plans;
- reproduction of materials provided by UNICEF;
- implementation process of the activities described in the plans;
- strengthening of institutional, social and community capacities.
- Document containing the work plan for the implementation of local plans in accordance with the aforementioned methodology.
- Community actors trained to identify determinants and risk factors for ICD, facilitate timely case detection and follow-up, and coordinate with first-level health services, based on the prioritized package of goods and services.
- Document with the work plan for technical support that includes:
- strategy for the active search for new community monitors and/or reactivation of certified monitors, ensuring that the profiles have community legitimacy;
- capacity building plan for: personnel responsible for community surveillance in Health Districts 06D02 and 06D01; community monitors;
- proposal for the sustainability and continuity of active community monitors in each selected parish.
