The United Nations Development Programme in Djibouti has announced an opportunity for a youth association to partner in the organization of a national hackathon focused on the well-being of young people.

This initiative will take place between September and November 2025 and aims to create an inclusive platform where young people can innovate, collaborate and propose solutions to challenges affecting their communities.

The partner association will work alongside UNDP to design and plan the hackathon, ensuring that participation is open to all young people aged 18 to 35, including those from rural areas, young women and persons living with disabilities. Efforts will be made to guarantee equal opportunities and strong representation across diverse groups.

The mission also includes providing logistical support such as arranging venues or digital platforms, ensuring technical resources are in place and preparing tools for monitoring and evaluation. The association will contribute to the development of a detailed program and ensure smooth coordination throughout the process.

In addition to the organizational tasks, the association will be responsible for mobilizing youth nationwide and implementing a communication strategy that enhances visibility, especially on social media. This strategy will highlight inclusivity while encouraging widespread participation from different regions of the country.

The initiative emphasizes transparency and fairness in the evaluation process. The partner will support the work of the jury to ensure that all submissions are assessed according to clear and inclusive criteria. At the end of the event, an awards ceremony will showcase the achievements of the participants.

A grant of up to 885,000 FDJ will be provided to support the implementation of this mission. The selected association is expected to bring proven experience in youth engagement, strong organizational capacity and the ability to collaborate with institutions and partners. The mission will officially begin on September 1, 2025 and conclude by November 5, 2025, offering a unique chance for a youth association in Djibouti to play a central role in empowering young people through innovation and collaboration.
