The Miroir Foundation has launched a new call for proposals to support bold and creative initiatives that reduce loneliness among older adults by fostering joy and meaningful social connection.

The objective of this call is to make a change—no more loneliness, just joy and social connection. The Foundation funds initiatives that reduce loneliness through joy and meaningful social connection, welcoming proposals where older adults are not just recipients but active participants. The focus is on sparking connection, celebrating aging, and bringing life back into lives waiting to be lived. The mission is guided by values of inclusion, wellbeing, and the essential role of joy in health.

The call is open to organizations legally recognized as “qualified donees” by the Canada Revenue Agency. Other organizations may also apply, though additional agreements may be required to transfer funds. Only one application per organization will be accepted, although joint applications are permitted. Priority will be given to organizations that were not funded in the September 2024 round.

Funding of up to $10,000 per project is available, with a total of $40,000 allocated under this call. Projects should be innovative, feasible, and aligned with the Foundation’s mission. Applications will be assessed on relevance to the mission, quality and innovativeness, feasibility and outcomes, potential for leveraging additional funds, and inclusion of partners such as community groups, collaborators, or beneficiaries.

Certain restrictions apply, as grants will not support fundraising, political or religious activities, sponsorships, individuals, deficit reduction, or equipment purchases unrelated to proposed projects. Each application will be reviewed by the Foundation’s Grant Committee and final approvals will rest with the Board.

Successful grantees will be required to provide progress updates, acknowledge the Foundation in project communications, and agree to potential evaluations of their work.
