The United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) calling for expression of interests for the support implementation of Care Reform Program.

This program will target children without parental care or those at risk of separation including children with disabilities and other special needs. In addition, the selected agencies will support UNICEF in national level efforts of strengthening of government capacity for leadership, coordination and supervision of care reform work in Kenya.

Expected Results 
  • Working with relevant government entities such as the State Department of Children Services,
    • Return of children back to their birth families or placement of children among vetted and training alternative family-based care givers such as in kinship care, foster care, guardianship, kafaalah, adoption or in supported independent living.
    • Families that are taking back their families are supported directly or linked to empowerment programs, psychosocial support services, social protection services, parenting training among others, to ensure they provide a safe and secure environment to children under their care.
    • Frontline works have increased capacity for early intervention to prevent separation and also to support reintegration to family and community-based care where separation has already happened.
    • Coordination of frontline line workers among child protection agencies and allied sector is improved and funding and data for better results for children and their families strengthened.
