The City of Onkaparinga is accepting applications for its Quick Response Community Grant Program from community organisations and eligible individuals to facilitate connection, social inclusion, access and participation.

Types of Grants
  • Small projects:
    • Projects and activities that strengthen communities and contribute to a more connected and sustainable region. This includes support for artists with an ongoing creative practice within the City of Onkaparinga.
  • Learning & leadership:
    • Support local volunteer-run organisations to build and sustain member skills required to deliver community outcomes
Funding Information
  • Small projects $250 (min) - $2,000 (max)
  • Learning and leadership $100 (min) - $750 (max)
  • Duration of funding The grant will remain open until funds are fully exhausted
Eligibility Criteria
  • Eligible applicants include:
    • not-for-profits – incorporated bodies, co-operatives or business associations
    • registered charitable organisations – refer to the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission
    • schools and learning institutions – for activities that are not curriculum based, and the primary benefit is for the wider community
    • unincorporated community groups/sole traders with creative pursuits that reside in the City of Onkaparinga
    • accredited social enterprises
    • Aboriginal corporations and Torres Strait Islander corporations.
Ineligibility Criteria
  • Ineligible applications will not advance to the assessment stage. Applications will be ineligible if any of the following apply:
    • The funding request is for reimbursement of funds already spent
    • A program, service or activity that is primarily considered the responsibility of the state or Australian Government.
    • A new building, capital works or facility maintenance works
    • Ongoing staff salaries or administration costs, however once-off facilitator/trainer fees are acceptable
    • Political organisations will not be funded
    • Applications with the singular purpose of promoting religion
    • Competitions, prizes or exclusively fundraising events
    • Projects or events that denigrate or exclude any groups in the community
    • The funding request is from current Council employees or elected members
    • Any applicant that has an unresolved matter with the council. For example, failure to comply with all applicable statutory requirements, are in litigation with the council, have outstanding debts with the council, or has failed to adequately acquit a previous council grant
    • Activities that substantially pollute land, air or waterways. The council discourages proposals that promote gambling.
Selection Criteria
  • Small projects
    • Project/event located within the City of Onkaparinga with benefits for local people.
    • Applications must meet at least one of the funding priorities.
  • Learning & leadership:
    • Applicant is a not-for-profit located within the City of Onkaparinga which benefits local people.
    • Learning needs clearly connected to group objectives and aligned with the Community Vision 2034.
