Apply for Household Support Fund Community or Crisis Grants (UK)

The Community and voluntary organisations, town, parish, and community councils can apply for grant funding to support local initiatives tailored to local need helping to provide vulnerable households with food, utilities and keeping warm.
A fund of £500,000 is being allocated to Community Grants so that community organisations can support local initiatives tailored to local needs, as well as for organisations or professionals working with residents by exception to apply for urgent crisis funding.
Funded by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), Hampshire County Council has been given more than £12.5 million from the Household Support Fund to use and they intend to work with community and voluntary sector partners to provide immediate direct support or support that has a longer-term sustainable impact, particularly focussing on food and utility costs, to vulnerable households throughout the period.
Funding Information
- A fund of £500,000 is being allocated to Community Grants so that community organisations can support initiatives tailored to local needs.
- Whilst there is no minimum or maximum amount that can be applied for, they expect most of the application will be between £5,000- £15,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- This is a grant that can support all ages from young children to older people. Given this fund has historically been accessed by services supporting children and young people under 18's and families, they would particularly welcome projects that support older people, adult carers, those with mental health issues, and those residents with physical and learning disabilities.
- Schools and other education settings will also be able to apply for community grant funding where they have a specific plan in mind to support families in greatest need, or for a large number of families and the amount will not be covered by the schools' discretionary grant allocation.
- Crisis Grant – Professionals and organisations may apply for a crisis grants where there is a need for emergency support that cannot wait until the opening of the application window.
