The International AIDS Society (IAS) is offering a timely and impactful opportunity through its AIDS 2026 Community Implementation Grants.

This initiative supports community organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean, including Brazil, that are ready to translate HIV science into meaningful, ground-level interventions. Each recipient can receive up to USD 10,000 to fuel projects that directly address pressing HIV-related challenges.

The focus is clear: projects should tackle one or more of the key priorities—expanding access to HIV prevention and harm reduction services, reducing stigma, integrating mental health support within HIV services, or responding to gender-based violence. The emphasis is on evidence-based action that creates tangible change in local communities.

Organizations applying for this grant are encouraged to demonstrate a direct link between their scientific knowledge and community-driven action, showcasing inclusivity—especially toward marginalized populations—alongside innovation and sustainability. Proposals must be ready for implementation within the grant window and align with the conference's theme: Rethink. Rebuild. Rise.

Successful applicants will be onboarded in November, launching their projects through June 2026. These initiatives will culminate in a presentation at the Global Village during the AIDS 2026 Conference in Brazil, offering both visibility and the chance to influence peers and policymakers.

This grant represents a powerful catalyst for community organizations to drive localized, scientifically informed responses to HIV. It offers both funding and a global platform to elevate their impact.
