AI For All is the flagship programme of The Different Foundation, designed to advance diversity, equality, and inclusion across AI technologies by providing UK charities with both financial support and expert mentorship.

The programme focuses on equality of voice and place, advancing diversity, equality, and inclusion across AI technologies through thoughtfully combined financial support and expert mentorship. It connects experienced mentors and industry specialists with charities championing diversity in AI development. By offering both funding and knowledge, it helps organisations extend their reach and deepen their impact through strengthened strategies and operations. The programme also emphasises building collaborative relationships with all grant recipients, requiring bi-annual reporting and feedback from grantees, creating opportunities for reflection and continuous improvement, and publishing annual updates on its collective journey and impact.

UK charities with an annual turnover between £150,000 and £1.15 million and 1–10 employees are eligible to apply for grants of up to £2,500 per application. Funding rounds are scheduled twice a year, with applications for the July round opening from May 1st to June 30th, and for the December round from August 1st to September 30th. Additional rounds will follow in March and September 2026.

Applications undergo a three-step review process: initial review and shortlisting by the Foundation Director, interviews with shortlisted applicants to discuss their vision, and final selection by the trustee board. Successful applicants are notified by the end of the month following the funding review and receive both the grant and access to mentorship.

Each funded partner can access up to four hours of specialised mentorship, with mentors bringing valuable expertise from across the AI landscape. Mentors commit to at least eight hours annually, supporting two or more charities, and sessions are scheduled flexibly to accommodate both parties.

Through this dual support model of funding and mentorship, AI For All ensures that diverse voices are represented in AI innovation, creating a more inclusive technological future where everyone has both voice and place.
