Khyentse Foundation launches Trisong Grants
Section
The Khyentse Foundation is now accepting applications for its Trisong Grants program, offering new support to individuals and organizations promoting mental health and well-being through the lens of Buddhist wisdom.
These grants invite creative, compassionate initiatives rooted in Buddhist perspectives—even if not overtly religious—to share teachings that alleviate suffering and foster emotional resilience.
The grants are aimed at projects that explore mental well-being in contemporary settings, from art and performance therapy groups to meditation programs in schools or prisons. Other inspired proposals might offer pastoral counselling, mindfulness workshops, or community outreach—each tailored to uplift individuals through innovative, caring approaches to emotional health.
Awarded funds typically range between $1,000 and $5,000, providing practical support for community-led initiatives. Winners are selected by an international panel and invited to bring their compassionate projects to life.
Applicants should note that proposals must demonstrate an authentic connection to Buddhist view, study, or practice. Applications will not be considered if they request funding for building and construction projects, fail to adequately explain the budget and scope, or are for film projects, which are not being accepted at this time. Submissions must be made in English, and applicants may not apply more than once in the same round.
This grant program offers a meaningful opportunity for grassroots groups to weave Buddhist values into modern strategies for well-being. By blending tradition with creativity, the Trisong Grants empower projects that care for hearts and minds in troubled times.
