$1000 to $10,000

The Huawei France Tech Arena is an opportunity for individuals studying or recently graduated in the EU to showcase their skills in analytical modeling, optimization, and simulation.

The event focuses on two main areas: Light Chaser (Optical Networks) and Future Network (Data Communications).

Participants will learn from industry experts and compete for prizes and internship opportunities. For Optical Networks, the problem is related to FTTR networks, while for Data Communications, it's AI training for Load Balancing. The objective is to drive the next wave of technology by having participants tackle critical problems. The event themes are centered around shaping the future of these two technological fields with innovative solutions.

The top finalist teams can win prizes from a cash pool of EUR 11,000 per Challenge Problem, along with internship opportunities, certificates, and souvenirs. Grand Winner will receive a cash reward of EUR 5,000. The 2nd Place team will get EUR 3,000, and two 3rd place winning teams will each receive a cash reward of EUR 2,000. Two 4th place teams will each receive EUR 1,000. A total of four teams will be defined as Huawei competition students and offered internal internship opportunities. All participants who make it to the Final Round will receive unique Huawei souvenirs. Up to 24 top participants for the Future Networks Problem from Round 1 will be invited to Paris to join the Final Hackathon, with Huawei potentially assisting with travel and accommodation costs.

To be eligible for this competition, participants must be 18 years or older, non-Huawei employees, and registered at a Higher Education Institution in the European Union. Students in engineering, mathematics, computer science, physics, or other related fields are eligible, including undergraduates, master's students, and PhD students. Participants who have graduated up to three years ago are also eligible.

Teams can have up to three members. It is a good idea to have at least one PhD student on the team. Each participant can only be a member of one team. Deliverables can be in Python, Java, C, or C++, and this applies to both Round 1 and Round 2. For Round 1, participants are required to upload their complete codebase in the participation form, including all files needed to replicate their solution. These files need to be in .py or compressed in a zip.

The winners for the Optical Networks problem will be announced on October 31, 2025, and for the Data Communications problem on November 14, 2025. The registration deadline for Light Chaser (Optical Networks) is August 20 to October 17, 2025, at 23:59 Central European Time (UTC+2). The registration deadline for Future Network (Data Communications) is August 20 to October 24, 2025, at 23:59 Central European Time (UTC+2).
