The Spotlight NG is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the Youth Local Government Accountability Fellowship.
The Spotlight for Transparency and Accountability Youth Program is designed to empower young people to actively engage in fostering social accountability, civic engagement, and local governance in their communities.
The program offers selected participants a 2-day intensive Local Governance Accountability Bootcamp, followed by a 3-month Leadership Development Program and 3-month mentorship sessions. Participants will also receive seed funding to implement a macro project in their local government area, with the aim of creating tangible impact in governance and accountability.
Eligibility: Must be a resident of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, and Yobe; Must be between 18 and 29 years of age; Must have an interest in fostering social accountability; should have essential insight into civic engagement and local governance; Must be willing to commit to a 9-month program.
An added highlight is the opportunity to attend the Youth Idea Summit, where participants can share their experiences, network with peers, and showcase their project outcomes. The program is designed to not only build leadership skills but also provide practical tools and resources for young people to contribute meaningfully to governance processes in their states.
