Grant Size
$100,000 to $500,000

The City of Greater Geelong is inviting applications for the 2025–26 Community Infrastructure Grants to support the planning, development, and improvement of community facilities that enhance local participation, accessibility, and inclusion.

This grant has two categories, but you can only apply for one category per funding round. You may request up to $50,000 for a Planning Grant, or up to $250,000 for a Capital Works Grant. The total amount of funding available for all Community Infrastructure Grants is $1,500,000. The City will only fund up to two-thirds of your total project cost to the maximum grant funding offered, requiring applicants to contribute $1 for every $2 provided. Co-contributions ensure project viability, demonstrate community commitment to the project, and maximise the impact of the City’s available funds. The nominated priority funding themes for 2025-26 are: Access for all abilities – demonstration the project will empower people with a disability to be active contributors and participants in the community; Fair access – demonstration the project will improve the access to, and use of, community infrastructure for women and girls.

Applications are open to eligible organisations that can demonstrate how their project aligns with the grant objectives and meets the funding requirements. Projects should address identified needs in community infrastructure and aim to deliver healthy, inclusive, and equitable outcomes.

Funding will be prioritised for applicants who did not receive money from this grant in the previous year, applications from organisations that do not receive money from electronic gaming machines or gambling, and projects which address a gap in the provision of community infrastructure.

The grant offers significant opportunities for community groups and organisations to bring forward well-planned projects that can positively impact the Greater Geelong community. All applications will be assessed through a multi-stage review process including eligibility checks, officer assessments, community panel reviews, and Council endorsement.
