Uttlesford District Council is inviting applications for the One-off Community Grant Programme, offering small grants of up to £500 and larger grants between £501 and £3,000 to support projects that align with the priorities in the council’s Corporate Plan 2023–27.

This funding supports projects which align with the priorities in the council's Corporate Plan 2023–27, with additional weight given to projects that include collaboration with other organisations such as town and parish councils, community groups, and the voluntary sector.

Funding is available for a maximum of one year and can cover a wide range of eligible project costs. Applicants must be non-profit making, constituted organisations with a bank account requiring a minimum of two unrelated signatories. Funding cannot be awarded retrospectively and will not support activities promoting religious or political beliefs, capital expenditure, or projects already receiving funding for the same purpose in Uttlesford.

Applications must be accompanied by mandatory documentation, including a constitution or operating document, business plan (if available), project expenditure spreadsheet, most recent annual report and accounts, current insurance details, a Health and Safety policy, a safeguarding policy, relevant DBS numbers for staff, and a safeguarding risk assessment. Additional requirements apply if projects involve children, young people, or vulnerable adults.

Successful applicants will need to deliver their projects within agreed timeframes and funding will usually be released after work is completed or in staged payments against agreed milestones. All funded projects must comply with the Equalities Act 2010, and membership of applicant organisations must be open to all without exclusions.

The deadline for applications is midday on Friday, 29 August 2025, and applicants are encouraged to include supporting comments from relevant town or parish councils where appropriate.
