Open Call: LGBT+ Youth Advocacy Fund (United Kingdom)
Section
The Consortium, with the support of The Henry Smith Foundation, has launched the LGBT+ Fund: Youth Advocacy Fund to strengthen organisations and groups supporting LGBT+ young people aged 14–25 across the UK.
The aim of this fund is for organisations supporting LGBT+ young people to be well resourced, sustainable, and resilient to build confidence and independence in LGBT+ young people and to support their needs and wishes as they grow into adulthood. Young LGBT+ people should be able to develop with the skills and resilience to realise their full potential.
This funding responds to the urgent need for safe, inclusive spaces where LGBT+ youth can connect, develop, and thrive, particularly in areas with historically low investment in LGBT+ services. Eligible applicants include UK-based non-profits already delivering youth work for at least two years, led by and for the LGBT+ community. The programme welcomes applications from groups in underfunded regions such as the North-East, East, Southwest of England, and the Devolved Nations, as well as those addressing intersectional needs.
Grants range from £10,000 to £50,000, with up to £15,000 available for creating new LGBT+ youth groups or projects. Funding can cover both core costs—such as staff salaries, rent, and utilities—and project costs, including venue hire, activities, and transport. Activities may be in-person or online and can also take place in educational settings. All grants must be fully spent within 18 months.
Applications close on 27 August 2025 at midday. Decisions will be announced by the end of November 2025. Successful applicants will be expected to report on how the funds were used and the outcomes achieved, with flexible reporting options available, including written, video, or conversational updates.
