CERIC has announced the launch of its second open call of the year for funding career development-related research and learning projects.

Projects can address any career development topic where a knowledge gap exists, with priority given to four key areas: Career practitioning with social and economic impact – Projects that demonstrate how career development work creates broader societal and economic benefits. Impact of career services on policy and programs – Research examining how career services influence and shape policy decisions and program development. New emerging career development theories and career service models – Innovative approaches and theoretical frameworks that advance the field. Shifting career mindsets and the role of career development professionals in evolving times – Addressing how career perspectives are changing and how professionals are adapting to meet new challenges.

The call invites both individuals and organizations from the education, community-based, and private sectors to submit proposals for the summer/fall funding window. This inclusive approach encourages the development of project ideas from a variety of perspectives and contexts within the career development ecosystem.

This opportunity builds on the momentum from CERIC’s first call of the year, which supported an innovative project on building organizational career centres, led by Challenge Factory in partnership with the Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers. The bi-annual funding system, featuring one winter/spring call and one summer/fall call, aims to improve access to funding, ensure equal consideration for all proposals, and provide applicants with clear timelines and expectations throughout the review process.
