Applications open for Resilience Innovation Programme in Bangladesh

The World Food Programme (WFP) is accepting applications for the Resilience Innovation Programme.
The Resilience Innovation activity aims to scale tools and initiatives—such as individual insurance products, proactive emergency response mechanisms, and climate-smart livelihoods—through government and private sector partnerships, targeting poor and socially vulnerable populations. Building on the success of first Country Strategic Plan, the second CSP (2022–2026) aims to scale and transition resilience interventions to national authorities, communities, and the private sector. The goal is to establish a sustainable risk mitigation and financing system that transforms the rural economy.

Eligibility Criteria for potential CP
- Experience required:
- In-depth knowledge and experience in the agriculture (crop and livestock) insurance sector.
- Strong understanding of the local/regional context of insurance/micro-insurance policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Adequate knowledge transfer modalities to the local community (partnerships with local insurance brokers or any other insurance experts are an added advantage) to ensure the sustainability and scalability of the program.
- Proven expertise in community mobilization and preparation of vulnerable household database.
- Experience in understanding building inclusive financial sectors.
- Sufficient previous engagement in the field of Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change, Social Protection, Climate-adaptive livelihood, market linkage support and Safety net activities.
- Having delivered various forms of training to Government and NGOs including at the local level.
- Having implemented food and cash transfer-based programs, Emergency and livelihoods programs including the selection process.
- Implementation of the functional Risk Reduction Action Plan (RRAP) followed by support in implementation of resilience-building infrastructures.
- Operational strength:
- Strong presence at division, district and upazila levels with offices established and logistic arrangements in place. Field presence for at least two years in the districts where the applicant intends to work.
- Experience in implementing anticipatory action in the flood-prone districts.
- Managing insurance and microinsurance programme/projects.
- Experience in climate-smart and diversified livelihood activity implementation.
