Objectives

• Tantramar’s Community Development Grants Program Objectives:
  • To be fiscally responsible to the taxpayers of Tantramar and to ensure there is value in the initiatives they choose to support and to contribute to the overall betterment of the community.
  • To support local community and sports organizations in the day-to-day costs of operation.
  • To maintain equity when dispersing public community development funds.
  • To improve the quality, quantity and access of community recreation opportunities by financially assisting groups with new and improving recreational, arts and cultural initiatives; leadership development opportunities; and recreational programming for all ages.

Categories

• Applications can be submitted under four different categories.
  • 2026 Operational Grant– Designed to provide operational assistance to local associations that have a primary mandate in compliance with Municipal priorities.
  • 2026 Small Capital Grant– Designed to provide monetary support to local associations that are pursuing a one-time capital or equipment purchase. Examples could include building renovations, sporting equipment, playgrounds, and other infrastructure costs.
  • 2026 Special Events/Projects Grant– Designed to provide financial support to local associations that are hosting a special event or would like to introduce or enhance a programming opportunity within Tantramar.
  • 2026 Sponsorship Grant– Tantramar is happy to support local organizations with smaller donation requests as part of the yearly budget discussions. Individual requests and requests outside of the budget process will not be considered.

  • Municipal Council places priority on projects that provide opportunities for:
    • Active and Healthy Lifestyles
    • Artistic and Cultural expression and learning
    • Sustainable community development, and building stronger more cohesive communities
    • Residents to have enjoyable, rewarding leisure time activities
    • Positive personal growth and development (building resiliency, self-esteem and confidence)
