The Council of Europe project "Combating Violence against Women in Ukraine - Phase III " (COVAW -III) announces a call for grant proposals to raise awareness about the implementation of the Istanbul Convention in Ukraine.
The aim of the competition is to co-finance national, regional and local projects aimed at combating violence against women and domestic violence in Ukraine by promoting the implementation of the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul Convention).
Funding Information
- The Council of Europe intends to award two grants under this call with a maximum budget of EUR 12,000 in Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH) per grant. The total available budget is EUR 24,000 (twenty-four thousand euros) in Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH).
Duration
- Project implementation period: start no earlier than September 20, 2025 and completion no later than January 31, 2026.
Eligible Projects
- Preference will be given to project proposals that focus on:
- Increased understanding of Council of Europe and international standards on combating violence against women and domestic violence among civil servants, prosecutors, law enforcement agencies, the media and the general public;
- Promoting the implementation of the Istanbul Convention in Ukraine through constructive dialogue and positive contribution to the protection of human rights and gender equality in the country;
- Development and dissemination of information and educational materials on programs for perpetrators in accordance with the Istanbul Convention and European standards.
Criteria
- Division of the grantee’s roles and responsibilities:
- The Grantees have full responsibility for implementing the action and complying with the Agreement.
- The Grantees are jointly and severally liable for the implementation of the action. If a Grantee fails to implement its part of the action, the other Grantees become responsible for implementing this part (without being entitled to any additional funding to do so), unless the Council expressly relieves them of this obligation.
- In the case of a single Grantee applying, all obligations and responsibilities shall vest in the Grantee. All references to “Lead Grantee” and “Grantees” shall therefore apply equally to the Grantee applying.
