The Kaduna State Government is pleased to invite applications for its Data Science Fellowship Program to offer a unique opportunity for aspiring data scientists to hone their skills, gain practical experience and make meaningful contributions to real-world projects.
The Click-On Kaduna Data Science Fellowship Program is a digital skills and development program implemented by the Kaduna State Bureau of Statistics (KDBS) to train world-class data management professionals. The fellowship trains young people in data science and the use of modern tools to improve public policy and decision-making in Kaduna State.
The Data Science Fellowship Program is part of the Kaduna State Data Lab Project, jointly implemented by the Kaduna State Government, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Natview Foundation for Technology Innovation.

Program Specifications
- This program is extremely intensive and will require full-time attendance. Classes will take place four times a week, and additional tasks and assignments will be handed down on a daily basis. It will be difficult to commit to this program while engaging in any other full-time activity. This is a very competitive program, and priority will be given to those who can commit. The training will take place in Kaduna State.
- Duration: The program is expected to last for six months.
Eligibility Criteria
- Age: 18–35 years, except for exceptional cases.
- Location: Applicants must be resident in Kaduna State.
- Academic Qualifications: Graduate of Tertiary Institutions in any of the STEMS courses particularly: Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Physical Sciences, and Health-related disciplines. Undergraduates within the STEM fields identified who are doing their 6-month to 1-year Internships are also encouraged to apply.
- Competency Level: We are looking for people with the following skills:
- Basic Computer Knowledge
- Basic Knowledge of using Data & Understanding of Microsoft Excel
- Problem-Solving Skills
- Communication Skills (Written and Verbal English).
- Gender: During the selection process, 50% of gender balancing and distribution will be considered.
